Museum director, board, ordered to resign
The Greek Ministry of Culture has ordered the resignations of the National Museum of Contemporary Art’s director and board of directors, it emerged Thursday.
According to Kathimerini sources, the ministry ordered the board to submit resignations on Wednesday, before demanding the same of the museum’s director, Anna Kafetzi, on Thursday.
The move came after a month-long public dispute pitting Kafetzi against the museum’s board. The two sides disagree over the framework regarding the museum’s much-awaited re-opening at its new premises, the former FIX factory, located on Syngrou Avenue in central Athens.
The situation was expected to be clarified in the following days, sources said.
