Kidnapper release Athens woman after father pays 82,500-euro ransom

A 27-year-old woman kidnapped on October 31 in Athens has been released by her abductors after her family paid an 82,500-euro ransom.

The woman, who has not been named, was kidnapped in the neighborhood of Kypseli. The abductors called her father and initially demanded 10 million euros but after protracted negotiations they lowered the sum.

The victim’s father handed over the money and the woman was released near the spot where she was taken. She had not been harmed.
