Tsipras meets with Gianna Angelopoulos to discuss Clinton Initiative conference
SYRIZA chief Alexis Tsipras met on Monday with Gianna Angelopoulos, former head of the Athens 2004 Olympics organizing committee, in view of the Clinton Global Initiative’s Mediterranean Conference scheduled to take place in Athens in June 2015.
According to a statement released by SYRIZA, Angelopoulos invited the opposition leader to the conference in her capacity as the event’s founding sponsor.
Organized by the Clinton Foundation, the meeting aims to address regional issues, including youth unemployment and social and financial volatility.
Last week, Angelopoulos also met with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras to discuss the upcoming event.
