Thessaloniki police rescue elderly woman from burning home
Officers of the police’s motor-cycling DIAS unit rescued an elderly woman from her home in Sykies, a suburb of Thessaloniki, on Wednesday morning after she became trapped in a fire that broke out under circumstances that remained unclear.
Neighbors telephoned the police and eight DIAS officers were dispatched to the scene before the fire service arrived.
The woman was said to be unharmed.
