Following murder on farm, ex-lover kills himself
A pensioner suspected of murdering a 40-year-old mother of four near the town of Leonidio in the Peloponnese earlier this week was found dead Thursday.
Authorities said that he had drunk a bottle of poison.
The unnamed 67-year-old, a retired construction worker, is believed to have killed the woman in a fit of jealous rage and then committed suicide not far from the Arcadia farm where he allegedly shot his victim. A shotgun that may have been used to murder the woman, a livestock breeder, was found next to his body.
According to police the man and his alleged victim had been lovers in the past.
