Greek eye doctor caught accepting bribe from patient

A 51-year-old ophthalmologist, the head of the ophthalmic clinic at a hospital in northern Greece, faced a prosecutor in northern Greece on Thursday on charges of demanding a 300-euro bribe to plan swift cataract surgery for a patient.

A relative of the patient reported the doctor to police.

He was arrested on Wednesday in the act of accepting the 300 euros in pre-marked bills from the patient.
