Ambulance workers warn of aged fleet
Dozens of ambulance workers in the northern port city of Thessaloniki gathered outside the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace on Thursday morning, demanding a meeting with the minister to express their concerns regarding the poor state of their fleet.
Representatives of the protesters from the EKAV emergency service told Minister Giorgos Orfanos that the city’s ambulances are lacking basic equipment and maintenance, posing a safety risk. They said they need better equipment in order to perform their duties.
Orfanos pledged to bring the matter to the attention of the Health Ministry in Athens.
