Lawyers to begin extended strike action on Monday
Lawyers begin what they have threatened will be extended strike action on Monday in protest at proposed changes to the country’s penal code.
Last week, 93 percent of some 23,000 lawyers nationwide who participated in a vote rejected the new legislation and demanded that the Justice Ministry withdraw it from Parliament.
That demand was rejected, prompting them to take action by walking off the job.
