Shop workers plan strike to oppose extended hours on Sunday

The union representing retail store employees has called a strike for this Sunday, when shops are meant to open.

The Federation of Private Employees (OIYE) opposes Sunday opening, saying that it favors multinationals, malls and discount centers over small and medium-sized businesses.

A change in legislation earlier this year allows stores to open on seven Sundays a year.
