Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios stands in front of an icon of the Good Shepherd in the Church of St Nicholas in the western Peloponnese town of Pyrgos yesterday. Vartholomaios visited Ancient Olympia before traveling to Zakynthos, ‘The island is yours,’ Bishop Chrysostomos of Zakynthos said. ‘You are our shepherd.’ On Monday, Vartholomaios will visit Cephalonia. On Thursday he will meet Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.
