Man dies in apparent car explosion on main Athens highway
A car appears to have exploded on the main highway around Athens on Monday morning, resulting in one person being killed and another injured.
The vehicle seems to have exploded as it was being driven along Attiki Odos in the direction of Athens International Airport. Initial reports suggest that police found traces of explosives in the car.
Members of the police’s bomb disposal squad have been dispatched to the scene of the blast.
