Turkish jets violate Greek air space
Hellenic Air Force pilots on Monday chased off Turkish jets entering Greek air space without clearance on two separate occasions over the course of the day, the Defense Ministry announced.
The first violation took place at 3.22 p.m. when two Turkish F-16s flew over the eastern Aegean islands of Lesvos and Chios at an altitude of 21,000 feet.
At 3.49 p.m. another two jets, possibly the same ones, were spotted over Farmakonisi in the southeastern Aegean.
There has been a spike in Turkish violations of Greek air space over the past few weeks.
