Burglars target Independent Greeks deputy’s home

Police in Pikermi, east Attica, were investigating a break-in at the home of Independent Greeks deputy Pavlos Haikalis in the early hours of Saturday.

According to initial reports, unknown assailants broke into the MP’s residence from a balcony before removing jewelry and a service handgun registered to his wife, a police officer.

Haikalis recently alleged that a middleman had tried to bribe him so he would vote for the government’s candidate in the presidential election.
