Greek vacationer murdered by Englishman in London

An Englishman was charged on Tuesday with murdering a 43-year-old Greek in London, where the latter was on vacation.

Menelaos Alygizakis was struck over the head at a bus stop outside Waterloo Station in the early hours of Saturday.

He died from head injuries sustained during the attack.

Mark Patten, 30, was charged with murder.

Alygizakis, a teacher, had been visiting friends in the UK, where he had taught in the past.

The 43-year-old worked at Athens College between 2004 and 2007.
