Greek PM to join French national unity rally in Paris on Sunday

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is expected to attend a French national unity rally in Paris on Sunday following an invitation from the country’s President Francois Hollande.

The peaceful march was organized in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris last Wednesday in which 12 people were shot dead by French-Algerian brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi.

Another four people died in a kosher supermarket in Paris on Friday, after being taken hostage by an alleged acquaintance of the Kouachi brothers, Amedy Coulibaly.

All three suspects were killed by French special forces on Friday.

Meanwhile, a SYRIZA delegation is scheduled to visit the French Embassy in Athens on Monday to express the party’s solidarity with the French people with regard to recent events as well as to present its views regarding terrorism and its origins.
