Police arrest 47-year-old woman for murdering husband in Ioannina
Police in Ioannina, northwestern Greece, on Saturday arrested a 47-year-old woman for the murder of her husband on Friday night.
Police were called to the house by the suspect, who claimed to have come home and discovered her husband’s body.
The 53-year-old victim had been stabbed through the heart.
A search of the premises, however, uncovered a knife they believe to be the murder weapon washed and hidden in a ventilation shaft.
Investigators believe the 47-year-old wife attacked her husband with a kitchen knife during an argument on Friday night and subsequently called the police in order to divert attention away from her.
