More arrests due next week in crime gang probe
Special magistrate Rea Katsiveli is expected to issue new arrest warrants next week in connection to the alleged crime syndicate run by Panayiotis Vlastos, Yiannis Skaftouros and Vassilis Stefanakos from jail.
Katsiveli is also expected to call the three main suspects for questioning next week. Sources said that ex-Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos may also be quizzed over claims that he was the moral instigator of three bomb attacks at properties owned by his former confidant Yiannis Sbokos.
Tsochatzopoulos allegedly told Vlastos that Sbokos had stashed away several million euros in bribes from his days as the Defense Ministry’s general secretary for procurements.
