Bulgarians face charges over pistol cache

Two Bulgarian nationals faced a prosecutor in Edessa, northern Greece, Friday on charges of smuggling weapons into the country after finding 10 starter pistols and 1,000 rounds of ammunition hidden in the car in which they were traveling.

The two men, aged 45 and 49, are alleged to have brought the weapons into the country from Bulgaria with the intention of selling them on the black market.

The pistols had been hidden in a specially built compartment inside their car.
