Patriarch Vartholomaios congratulates Tsipras on election victory

Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios has sent a telegram of congratulations to Greece’s new Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

A statement issued by the Istanbul-based Patriarchate on Thursday said that Vartholomaios had wished the leftist premier and his aides success in “the difficult government work” following SYRIZA’s election victory on Sunday.
