Supreme Court prosecutor orders probe into Lesvos bullying incident
Supreme Court prosecutor Efterpi Koutzamani on Friday ordered an urgent investigation into the bullying of a nine-year-old boy on the island of Lesvos who was left to hang in the basketball ring of his school yard by older pupils before falling and fracturing his arms.
The older pupils had been instructed by the physical education teacher to lift the boy to the basketball ring and retrieve a ball that had become stuck there, the nine-year-old’s mother was quoted as saying by local media.
They dislodged the ball and forced the younger boy into the ring, she was quoted as saying in reports that said she was a single mother with another three children.
