Greek FinMin to meet with ECB’s Draghi
Geek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, currently in Rome holding talks with Italian officials, will be flying to Frankfurt on Wednesday to meet with European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, the ECB confirmed on Tuesday.
The finance minister, appointed last week by newly elected Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, may also be meeting this week with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble to discuss the government’s plans for easing Greece’s debt burden.
Tsipras is also making high-level contacts this week and is expected in Brussels on Wednesday for talks with, among other European officials, Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
