POE-OTA union to stage work stoppage on Friday

Members of the POE-OTA union representing local authority workers are to walk off the job on Friday between 11.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. as the members of its general council are due in court over strike action in October 2011 in protest at salary cuts.

The union is planning a solidarity rally which is to start at noon outside the capital’s Evelpidon court complex. A similar demonstration is planned for Thessaloniki as three workers charged with assaulting German Consul Wolfgang Hoelsche-Obermaier in November 2012 face trial there.
