Internet hoaxer floods fire service call center
The police’s cyber crimes unit is seeking to trace an Internet hoaxer who prompted a barrage of telephone calls to the Fire Brigade (199) on Friday night.
The prankster allegedly posted a Facebook message urging users to dial 199 to win 500 MB of data or 500 minutes of free calls.
The fire service said the hoax disrupted the provision of emergency response services.
