Court overrules plans for mall at Akadimia Platonos

The Council of State has deemed plans to build a shopping mall in the central Athens neighborhood of Akadimia Platonos illegal.

The country’s highest administrative court ruled that the 300-million-euro building, known as Academy Gardens, exceeded the maximum height limit for the area.

The court said that the mall should be no more than 24 meters high.
