Pensioner conned by man posing as PPC employee
A man impersonating a Public Power Corporation (PPC) employee conned a 76-year-old woman into handing him 25,000 euros after telling her that her house was at risk of fire.
According to the pensioner’s account, the man asked to inspect her home and told her that faulty wiring could cause a fire. He convinced her to give him her valuables, including cash and two gold rings for safekeeping, but then disappeared.
