Tsipras to meet Papoulias on Wednesday
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is expected to meet Greek President Karolos Papoulias at the Presidential Mansion on Wednesday at noon, the Athens-Macedonian news agency reported on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the Greek premier spoke to Papoulias, To Potami chief Stavros Theodorakis and European leaders to inform of them with regard to developments at Monday’s Eurogroup meeting in Brussels.
Meanwhile, Tsipras was expected to address SYRIZA’s parliamentary group at 4 p.m. on Tuesday where he was expected to announce the government’s presidential candidate.
A first round of voting for the next president is scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening at 7.30 p.m.
