Firefighters put out apartment blaze in Athens suburb
One apartment was destroyed and another six damaged on Thursday when a fire broke out in an apartment block in Halandri, northeastern Athens.
There were no injuries during the blaze, which started in a first-floor apartment for reasons that were not immediately clear.
It took 30 firefighters and nine fire engines to extinguish the blaze. The firefighters also helped evacuate eight people who were in the building.
