Crete store owner attacked at work by bat-wielding assailants
A businessman, whose identity was not made public, was being treated in a hospital in Iraklio, Crete, on Friday after being attacked at work by three assailants wielding wooden bats.
According to police, the man was in his shop in the busy commercial district of Gazi when the three men entered the premises, at midday, with their faces uncovered.
They hit him several times before running off.
Investigators believe they wanted the shop owner to know who they were, suggesting that the attack was a settling of personal differences.
