Greek-French composer picks up Oscar for best score

Greek-French composer Alexandre Desplat walked away with the Oscar for Best Original Score at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on Sunday night, following his eighth Academy Award nomination.

Desplat thanked his Greek mother when he collected his first ever golden statuette for his work in Wes Anderson’s “Grand Budapest Hotel.”
