Partygoers vandalize Thessaloniki university facilities

Vandals wrecked a design lab and an amphitheater while breaking several locks and urinating in the corridors of the architecture school at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, authorities said on Tuesday, calling for stricter security measures on the campus.

The damage was allegedly caused by persons outside the university community who had held a party on the premises on Friday.

In comments on Tuesday, university dean Konstantinos Katsambalos said that police had ignored repeated calls by university authorities to take action against breaches.

“There has to be some permanent control. Without proper patrolling, there is no way we can ban parties,” he said.
