Varoufakis briefing sacked cleaners
Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis was on Wednesday meeting with representatives of the ministry’s sacked cleaners to brief them on government efforts to rehire them.
The Supreme Court last week postponed for a second time the hearing of an appeal by the Finance Ministry with regard to a First Instance Court ruling instructing the ministry to rehire the 393 cleaners who were placed in a civil service mobility scheme by the conservative-led administration in 2013. The decision to postpone the hearing came following a request by the legal teams on both sides.
Varoufakis has said that all staff will be rehired.
