The Greek Police on Wednesday released the name and photographs of a 67-year-old man accused of sexually abusing minors. The suspect, Nikolaos Flamouropoulos, was detained in Thessaloniki on March 12.
The decision to make the suspect’s identity public was taken in order to safeguard the public and allow witnesses to come forward with information regarding the case, authorities said. Members of the public were invited to call on 2310.388.456.
Also on Wednesday, Greek Police issued a statement noting that announcements in local print and digital media regarding the alleged abduction of children in the southern suburbs of Athens were completely unfounded.
