Another suspect eyed in prison breakout plan

Police are on the trail of a criminal who is alleged to have played a part in supplying the weapons November 17 terrorist Christodoulos Xeros and other accomplices were due to use to help Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire members to escape from Korydallos Prison.

A high-ranking police source told Kathimerini that the suspect did not play a prominent role in the breakout plan but is one of several criminals who worked with the urban guerrillas and their accomplices. He is alleged to have transported some of the weapons but without knowing for what purpose they were going to be used.

Xeros was recaptured in January after a year on the run.
