Protesters occupy Xanthi municipality
Members of anti-establishment groups on Wednesday staged a sit-in at the municipality of Xanthi, in northern Greece, in solidarity with hunger strikers demanding the abolition of “Type C” maximum security jails and the release of November 17 convict Savvas Xeros who has serious health issues.
Protesters said they would end their “symbolic” action later in the day.
