Coroner confirms dairy student killed himself
A coroner has confirmed that 20-year-old dairy school student Vangelis Giakoumakis, whose body was found in a field in the northwestern city of Ioannina, killed himself.
The coroner’s report said that no other DNA was found on or near Giakoumakis’s body. The Cretan student, who had drunk a small amount of alcohol before his death, slit his right wrist.
“We are trying to find out what happened on that particular day, what caused this explosive situation with such a tragic conclusion,” said private investigator Giorgos Tsoukalis, who Giakoumakis’s family has hired. “There is something that the community there is hiding.”
It has been alleged that the 20-year-old was being bullied by fellow students.
