Two detained on child porn charges

Officers of the police’s cyber crimes unit on Tuesday detained two men suspected of trading in child pornography – a 35-year-old from Attica and a 27-year-old from Piraeus – after tracing them on the Internet with the help of Europol and the FBI.

Greek officers were tipped off by officers of Europol and the FBI who determined that the two suspects had been accessing a foreign website featuring material showing minors being sexually abused.

Searches on the suspects’ homes turned up several computer hard drives loaded with hundreds of thousands of videos and photographs featuring child porn, police sources said. The two men were to face prosecutors Tuesday on charges of trading in child pornography.
