ADEDY calls rally for Thursday to protest IMF payment
The civil servants’ union ADEDY has called on its members and supporters to join a demonstration Thursday afternoon near Omonia Square in protest at a 458-million-euro payment the government is scheduled to make to the International Monetary Fund on the same day.
The demonstration, which is being organized in cooperation with the initiative “Write Off Debt Now,” is to start at 6.30 p.m. in the area of Hafteia near Omonia Square.
Protesters aim to underline their demand for a debt write-off, saying, “Not even one euro should go toward servicing debt.”
