Maziotis aide linked to Trikala heist

Police have have redoubled their efforts to trace Spyros Dravilas, a 34-year-old being sought in connection with armed robberies involving jailed Revolutionary Struggle leader Nikos Maziotis, after an investigation pointed to Dravilas’s involvement in a heist last Thursday on a bank branch in the small town of Farkadona, near Trikala, central Greece.

According to sources, the probe has not yielded any physical evidence such as fingerprints to incriminate Dravilas but the modus operandi, and other evidence, suggest that he was involved in the raid.

The robbery last Thursday netted 197,000 euros for the three perpetrators. Dravilas took part in a dramatic heist on a branch of National Bank in the village of Distomo last August during which gunmen took a worker hostage for part of their getaway before continuing their escape by boat from the Corinthian Gulf.
