Group claims responsibility for attack on Microsoft HQ in Athens

A guerrilla group called Anarchist Federation-International Revolutionary Front (FAI-IRF) on Thursday claimed responsibility for an explosion early Monday outside the offices of software giant Microsoft in Maroussi, northern Athens.

No one was injured in the blast, which caused limited damage and was triggered by a device made out of two cooking gas canisters, according to police.

Microsoft’s offices in Athens were also attacked in June 2012, when a minivan packed with flammable materials was driven into the entrance and then fired upon by gunmen.

That attack was claimed by the same group.
