Culture Ministry heralds e-tickets for key archaeological sites

The new leadership of the Culture Ministry’s Archaeological Resources and Expropriations Fund on Thursday announced that an electronic ticket, allowing entrance to seven of the capital’s key archaeological sites including the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora, will be available by June.

The initiative is part of a broader drive to modernize and bolster the fund, officials said.

Alternate Culture Minister Nikos Xydakis (photo), who briefed reporters with the fund’s new management on Thursday, said authorities were also planning an increase in ticket prices for museums and archaeological sites but noted that social groups entitled to discounts would not lose that privilege.
