Human trafficking suspect arrested in Kavala

A 39-year-old Moldovan man suspected of being a human trafficker was arrested in Kavala, northeastern Greece, late on Friday after a lengthy chase by car and on foot.

The man failed to stop his car when asked to do so by police on the Egnatia Highway. In a bid to escape, the suspect drove to the center of Kavala, where he crashed into several vehicles before abandoning his car.

Officers chased him on foot but lost him briefly. The Moldovan then attempted to blend in with the crowd but was spotted by policemen, who arrested him.
