Police attacked by protesters in Thessaloniki

Protesters threw Molotov cocktails at police in Thessaloniki late on Friday following a demonstration in support of prisoners on hunger strike.

The incident occurred outside the northern city’s Turkish Consulate.

There were no injuries or damage.

Hurriyet Daily News reported that staff from the consulate, which is located next to the building where Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was born, helped put out the fire.
