Power cut at northern Athens tax office over unpaid bills

The Public Power Corporation said on Wednesday that it cut electricity to an office block in northern Athens housing the Maroussi tax office because the building’s management company had not paid some 1.3 million euros in power bills.

PPC clarified that the tax office and other tenants appear to have paid their shares of the electricity bills to the building managers but that this money was not then forwarded to the power company.

Tenants collected 120,000 euros on Wednesday to have the electricity reconnected.
