Ministry releases fund for municipal welfare program
Interior Minister Nikos Voutsis on Monday signed a decision releasing 112,644 million euros to 64 major municipalities around the country to bankroll special welfare benefits for impoverished households for the March-April period.
The municipal regions that will benefit from the decision include Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra, Piraeus, Larissa, Iraklio and Hania.
Municipal authorities have until June 19 to inform the ministry of how much funding they will need for May and June.
