TV screens in Greece go blank as digital provider experiences technical glitch

Television screens around Greece went blank around 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday as the country’s digital signal provider, Digea, said it was trying to repair a “serious technical glitch.”

The only channels that continued broadcasting were state television NERIT and Parliament’s Vouli.

“Because of a serious technical fault in the reception and digitization of the signals of channels broadcasting nationally, the digital signal has been temporarily interrupted,” Digea said in an announcement. “We are working towards a rapid solution to the problem.”

Channels that were not broadcasting include Antenna, Mega, Alpha, Skai and Star.
