Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios (l) walks with Bishop Panteleimon of Xanthi at the Patriarchate in Istanbul’s Phanar district yesterday. Panteleimon and Bishop Efstathios of Monemvasia and Sparta conveyed the Church of Greece’s decision that it would have the final say in electing bishops in northern Greece. The Patriarchate, which wants the Church of Greece to submit a list of candidates to it, is to examine the issue.
