Solar power
A group from the 3rd TEE in Kozani have designed and built a light vehicle capable of transporting two people and powered by electricity. Much of the energy is produced by photovoltaic panels on top of the vehicle. Now the pupils are planning a bigger, more comfortable and sleeker vehicle with more seats and more power by adding more photovoltaic panels. «What use is it if it can’t make the trip between Kozani and Ptolemaida?» asked one of the pupils, commenting on the 28-kilometer (17-mile) distance between the prefecture’s two large towns. The group’s next project is a vehicle that can travel at 50-60 kilometers per hour and with autonomous power for at least 100 kilometers, similar to others designed and built abroad.
