German rescuers…

German rescuers yesterday comb the rubble of Bam, a southern Iranian city destroyed on Friday by an earthquake that may have killed up to 30,000 people, according to the latest estimates. A 21-strong team of Greek rescue experts specialized in earthquake emergencies was due to arrive in Iran yesterday, together with humanitarian aid and tents. Greece has pledged 250,000 euros in earthquake aid to Iran.
