Two young Greek women shortlisted in competition for world-changing ideas

Two young Greek women have made the short list for Microsoft’s YouthSpark Challenge for Change thanks to their ideas for initiatives that could improve society.

Nefeli Stefopoulou, from Trikala, central Greece, has been short-listed for her Project LIN, which raised funds for filters to improve the quality of drinking water at two schools in Kenya, while Anastasia Siapka (photo), from Kilkis, northern Greece, helps educate young women in computer programming through her project CodeItLikeAGirl.

The public can vote for a winner until May 14, after which the top 10 projects will be announced.
