Xeros gives ‘political statement’ rather than testimony over prison break plan

Convicted November 17 terrorist Christodoulos Xeros on Friday opted to give a “political statement” in an appearance before an investigating magistrate rather than offer an explanation regarding his alleged involvement in a thwarted plan to help members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire guerrilla group escape from maximum-security Korydallos Prison last December.

It was the third time Xeros had faced a magistrate over the past few weeks.

On the previous occasions he had asked for more time to study the charges brought against him.

On Friday he simply indicated that he did not recognize the authority of the judicial officials appointed to interrogate him.
